Sustainability

Scape have been working with sustainability experts at Faithful+Gould to develop a wide ranging sustainability strategy for Scape Technology.  Aspects to be considered include reducing embodied and operational carbon, reducing waste, increasing water efficiency, promoting user health and happiness and increasing whole life value.

Many of the items to be addressed currently sit outside of the limits of Scape Technology but this work will help us to develop the system into a more holistic product.

We have already commissioned Faithful+Gould to carry out detailed work in relation to:
  • increasing the recycled content of the Scape specification
  • incorporating SUDS and rainwater harvesting
  • using the building itself as a learning tool
  • putting in place a system of EKPIs to monitor performance
  • carrying out an informal CABE review of the system
These documents have now been completed and will be added to the Scape Design Guide or can be supplied on request.
