Parrenthorn High School, Bury MBC
Parrenthorn is an extension to an existing school providing a new teaching block,
hall and music suite. Existing buildings were also extensively refurbished as
part of the same contract.Total project cost is in the order of: £1550/m2 (traditional tender cost). This
includes substructures (piled) £100/m2, superstructure, external works £120/m2,
preliminaries, M&E works, fitted furniture: £28/m2 and contractor’s fees.
Excluding the above, the basic net building cost is approximately £1300/m2.
