Building Systems
CLASP
1957 to 2005
Mark 2 to Mark 6b
The CLASP system has been in continual development since 1957. Until June 2005
significant changes were denoted by a new mark. However, major developments to
the system during 2004/05 warranted a change of name, the Scape system was launched
in June 2005. An Identification Guide gives details of the features for each
CLASP mark, which can be used to decide in which mark of CLASP your building was
constructed.
The Scape refurbishment programmes were developed around the CLASP system and
have been widely used on CLASP buildings nationwide. Scape has an extensive archive
of CLASP documentation which may be of assistance to owners of CLASP buildings
wishing to carry out refurbishment projects. A consultancy fee may be charged
